A Quiet Night In?

Picture this: I'm all psyched up for an evening in, Kaitrin's coming for dinner to share photos of her recent Liberia/UK trip and to catch up, I've set the menu: a roast followed by Butterscotch self-saucing Pudding.

Then she calls me. "Do you want the good news, or the bad news? I can't come for dinner, but we're going instead to Bjorn Again at Crown!"

Requires a bit of a change of mindset, don't you think?

Anyway, it was a fabulous night out, with lots of singing along and getting up and dancing, and once again I amazed myself with how many Abba lyrics are sitting uselessly in my brain for a rainy day (or Bjorn Again concert)! They really are a very talented outfit and have really paid attention to detail - including very outdated choreography. We had all the hits Dancing Queen, Fernando, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Money, Money, Money, The Winner Takes it All, to name but a few.
And that was it... my quiet night in with a friend.

Oh what fun! You rock '80's baby! I couln't help but think of Auntie Brenda. She never did get her 50th Abba party.
Now on the practical side - food!! When will you be eating this yummy roast AND butterscotch self saucing pudding? Are we invited? My stomach turns over with delight just thinking about it!

Sound like a great evening! I wonder if that is similar to a play that was in the states called Mama Mia? Probably not, I think that one only featured Abba music as a background to a different story line.
About that self saucing pudding..sounds amazing. Care to share the recipe?

The recepie is Mum's actually, it's good, but I didn't get to make it after all. Settled for baked apples, which worked ok Mum, I'll keep working on them. As for the musical Pat, it was 'Mama Mia' and I saw it twice. Something's telling me I might be a closet Abba fan!!
